AAPT eMentoring Expectations
Mentor Expectations
- contact their mentees at least once a week for one full school year
- keep confidential all proceedings between mentor and mentee
- offer criticism and critiques in positive and productive ways
- help mentees expand their repertoire of teaching skills, strategies, and knowledge
- maintain a detailed log of everything that is discussed with their mentee
- communicate a passion for teaching as helping students to develop their potential
- complete a mid-year and end-of-year online evaluation of program effectiveness.
Mentee Expectations
- reply to mentor contacts at least once a week for one full school year
- keep confidential all proceedings between mentor and mentee
- ask for help with grade-level and/or subject matter expertise, the use of technology, classroom management and procedures
- respond to suggestions and criticism in positive and productive ways and
- complete a mid-year and end-of-year online evaluation of program effectiveness.
